Welcome to InnStead
This is an off grid homestead. 3 acres in the Boise foothills bordering Boise National Forest. A vision of an Inn is to be built where community can stay to learn how to build, grow, and be peaceful with the Earth. We would like to host workshops, retreats and camp outs. The main 500sf permanent yurt was constructed by Stevie and Ami with some help from friends and family.
Stevie Alters who has been building homes from the ground up since 1998. He saw opportunities outside the city building codes, by studying ancient architecture. The trade became business controlled with stamped supplies, outdated codes, and inability for the average person to create their own dwelling (without hiring someone who was certified in the market). There is a passion within him to change the reality of our society and system to be more community powered. After studying economics to understand more of the history and ludicrous market of our society, he decided to not be a part of the same problem. He has since moved out of Idaho.
Ami Morrone is a lover of nature, community, and natural health. She too sees the world as a place of growth and opportunity. Realizing Idaho may be behind the learning curve with some of these new age ideas (where technology and science harmonize with community), she still saw a lot of alternative methods in the history of settlers. Together we learned Natural Building methods and began to apply them. Through trial and error, communication with other practitioners (homesteads off grid, organic and heirloom farmers, sustainable communities, ecovillages) and continuous study, this InnStead becomes an alternative to suburban living. Ami seeks to connect with other like minded earthlings to share the same vision.
You are called to come visit, learn, chat, and assist in this retreat center.
